“Did it take long to find me? I asked the faithful light. Did it take long to find me? And are you gonna stay the night?”

~CAT STEVENS "MOONSHADOW"

Our Beginning

Moonshadow was born from the quiet bond between a camera and a rescued soul. Inspired by the hauntingly hopeful lyrics of Cat Stevens’ “Moonshadow”, our name speaks to light found in dark places — and the beauty that often hides in the shadows. Just like the dogs I work with, the song is about resilience, acceptance, and choosing to see the joy in what remains. What started as a personal project — capturing the gentle spirit of a newly adopted Sighthound, also named Moonshadow — soon became a calling. These elegant, misunderstood dogs have so much more to say than words could ever express. So I turned to the lens, and let them speak for themselves.

Our Mission

I photograph all dogs with a focus on rescued Sighthounds — Greyhounds, Salukis, Whippets, Lurchers, and more — using photography to raise awareness, inspire adoption, and celebrate the grace of these remarkable animals.

Every session is guided by patience, empathy, and deep respect for each dog’s journey. Whether a dog is still searching for a forever home or finally safe in one, I aim to capture the spirit that makes them who they are — the softness, the silliness, the scars, and the strength.

What We Do

• Portrait Photography for rescued or adopted Sighthounds

• Storytelling Campaigns to support rescues and adoption events

• Awareness Projects highlighting the beauty and value of rescue dogs

• Partnerships with Shelters & Sighthound Rescues to give visibility to overlooked dogs

Why It Matters

Sighthounds are often misunderstood — seen as timid, fragile, or “just ex-racers and hunters.” But through the lens, they shine. With every photo, I aim to challenge assumptions, open hearts, and help these dogs be seen for what they truly are: sensitive, goofy, loyal, and endlessly resilient.

Let’s Create Something Meaningful

Whether you’ve just brought a rescue Sighthound home or run a rescue yourself, i’d love to work with you. Every photo tells a story — and i’d be honoured to help tell yours.
